Stuck at Prom

            College loomed.

She was determined to attend, and had done everything she could to make that happen. Money was tight, and she’d given up a lot. But she just couldn’t give up her senior prom. And she wouldn’t.
“But we can’t afford a dress, honey,” her dad said.
“Don’t worry, Dad. I’ve got it covered.”

These kids each won a $5,000 scholarship for their tux and prom dress, which are made entirely of duck tape. They spent 127 hours and used 18 rolls of duck tape.

  7. By the time you've paid for the duct tape, you could have bought one. The scholarship, though, covers it.

  8. What in the world would we do without duct tape. This is so creative. WTG on the kids for winning a prize for their efforts. I am amazed at what can be made with duct tape. This is a fabulous idea :)

  11. Amazing!

And I agreed with your comment: 6 weeks of politicking is enough! :) Personally, I'd give each of them an hour of air time, no ads, no bashing each other...just 60 minutes to explain His/Her policy. ;)

  13. Very clever. I've not seen for prom dresses but costumes and purses - actually! I have a character in my novel, Nose Dive --check it out on Amazon! by Karin Gustafson! - sorry for shilling - but one of my characters makes a bunch of stuff with duct tape.

Very nice pic - thanks much. k.

  17. Good for them and far more serviceable that a wedding dress made from toilet paper.
