The Hot Dog Lady

Plaque on Church Street
Burlington, VT

Chili dogs, Philly dogs, plain dogs with mustard and relish,
Lois had them all and when you ate one, delish!

Seasoned with love, served with a smile,
She was everyone’s favorite, and they lingered a while.

But Lois is gone now. So is her cart.
Seems like the street’s lost a bit of its heart.

  1. She will be missed by an entire generation of folks- and you're right, it's her heart that made the dog-stand great.

What a cool plaque! The dimension in her smile is enough to brighten a rainy day.

  5. Reminds me of the story told by a man who had risen high in the church, a bit embarrassed by his father's lowly position in some tucked away little parish. Until that is, he attended his father's funeral and witnessed the thousands that turned up to pay their last respects. My 55 here
