every now & then i see
smiles
every now & then
i see hints of him
as he spreads across the miles
every now & then
i hear him speak
in someone else’s rhyme
every now & then
i smile
and wonder where
he finds the time

Written for Carry On Tuesday, where the prompt is "Every Now and Then" from the Bonnie Tyler song, Total Eclipse.
This is poignant, Patti. A bit nostalgic. Sigh. I so know those feelings.
ReplyDeletesmiles are a good thing to spread across the miles you know...and time its there you just got to find it...smiles.
ReplyDeletesmiles are contagious, and that brings up people's moods when they were not smiling in the first place
ReplyDeleteA bit of nostalgia here but I smile every time I see smiles in my comments / blogs ~ See you Patti ~
ReplyDeleteGreat rhythm, light tone... very refreshing, Patti. I love it!
ReplyDeletehehe...i also wonder how he does it..love the speaking in someone else's rhythm...speaks to me of identification..
ReplyDeleteNice!:)
ReplyDeleteWe often wonder how others could make it for us. The worst crime was not to acknowledge their sacrifices. He did find time! That was great Patti!
ReplyDeleteHank
You have that image down very clearly, speaking of him thru you.
ReplyDeleteNot a total eclipse of the heart here, only a partial one. I thought of a child, where the father is gone but you can still see glimpses of its father and the reasons for that love. Maybe just a personal read for me. Anyway the poem was very effective from the prompt!
