Once I thought you were adorable,
But that was all beforable.
You showed your really true, true self
And, oh! That self was horrible.
Your selfishness makes me shudder.
What awful words I’ve heard you utter...
But you know what did it? The final straw?
You ate up all my peanut butter!
So I’m away without a backwards glance.
I’m done with giving you another chance.
I’ll find a new guy who's adorable
To join with me in a hot romance.
But he'd best leave my peanut butter alone!

You're tough! But "beforable"???
ReplyDeleteI had to stop and think what day it was. You are early!
ReplyDeleteFunny poem Patti. He better take the hint, I'd say. What's with peanut butter this week? Mr Miller was gummed up with the brown paste himself.
You and Brian Miller with peanut butter today! Now I want to make cookies! ha.
ReplyDeleteha. dont touch the peanut butter...an whats up with us both thinking about it today...lol
ReplyDeleteI know I'm early. I'm traveling. Posting from my phone is dicey, and I didn't want to miss it.
ReplyDeleteI'm thrilled that you guys came anyway. You're not after my peanut butter, are you? Go have some of Brian's. ;-)
hee hee, a funny one, Patti:) I had a craving for peanut butter toast yesterday - must have been picking it up via ESP. But I get to hog my whole jar!
ReplyDeleteVery amusing poem! You can have my peanut butter any time you like as I don't like it. I only buy it to put pills in for the dogs (and occasionally my husband likes to eat it!)
ReplyDeleteFun poem! And I share your peanut buttery feelings.
ReplyDeleteAs a sister peanut butter lover- I understand!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh patti...yes leave that peanut butter alone! You're ok with me...peanuts allergy lol!
ReplyDeletePeanut butter chocolate wafer bars..
ReplyDeletedon't come between a woman and her comfort food-- eh? Nice, Patti!
ReplyDeleteVery Smooth! Or is it Nutty? Either way, I love it! Sandwiched between the lines is a wonderful little poem... :-)
ReplyDeleteThis was great. Leave it alone, indeed :-)
ReplyDeleteMade me chuckle at "beforable." lol There are certain boundaries one must respect, and taking the last of one's PB is grounds for hitting the road Jack! Very well done and creative, Patti.
ReplyDeleteAgree with Adam. Very clever and well written, Patti. I once got in lots of trouble for downing the last of CASHEW butter (which is so much more addictive than PB) when I was baby sitting. I found out much later that it came dear. :)
ReplyDeleteWell done, Gay @beachanny
How cute is this...yes we do have our limits even in love and romance...your are always a fun read Patti...thank you for sharing...but not your Peanut Butter...No way, you can keep it...bkm
ReplyDeleteLove the sweetness of this, I agree, and have a pantry full of peanut butter to prove it!
ReplyDeleteahh hahaa as long as the peanut butter is safe ha! :)) that was very cute Patti!simple and refreshing..i like the daring tune ;)
ReplyDeleteLOL.
ReplyDeleteYears ago my dh had a dream in which I had eaten the last of the peanut butter then left a smear of it inside the jar to hide what I'd done. It was so surprising to see him run into the kitchen first thing in the morning and check. It was a critical moment, you know. Good thing there was still a tablespoon full left.
ha - yes - the fun ends when it comes to peanut butter...smiles
ReplyDeletefunny and deep at the same time patti
Preach, Sister!
ReplyDeletehahaha... this was super cute, Patti! NOW I know what irks you.. I'll try my best to NOT steal peanut butter from you.. hehe.. But will you promise to steal my chocolate? :)
ReplyDeleteTotally relished this one.. ;-)
Thanks so much for the laugh!
ReplyDeleteWow!!! what a peanut butter can bring it on.. I enjoyed it ... thanks

MMMMMM, I love peanut butter too. My Whitesnake is from Australia and he calls it Peanut Paste. Doesn't sound as tasty when he calls it that. Weird!
ReplyDeleteLove that peanut butter! Wonderfully witty... Nice write.
ReplyDeleteFun, with a great title. Grin-inducing.
ReplyDeleteFantastic! LOL funny...really! I'm afraid I wouldn't last a day...I LOVE peanut butter (extra crunchy), I eat it with a spoon. Speaking of which....... :)
ReplyDeleteWhassah mattah.... Dad eat all the PB again?
ReplyDeleteAnother great poem.
