Awake

I'm linking in to Poetic Bloomings - From Every Ending Comes a Beginning for the first time. The challenge is to use the last line from a previous poem to begin a new one. The one picks up from Duty (Un-) Burdened, posted 4/22/12.

I’m outta here.
I’m so done.

With eyes open, the dark fog of repression lifts.
There’s a new yellow sun rising on the horizon, and
An endless field of red flowers beckons to me, waving gaily.
Me again, I take a breath and a step over the jamb, leaving
The withering life back down the brown narrow past
Behind me, and closing tight the gate as I go.

I’m ready to begin again.
I’m outta here.
