“Hey, Darlin’.”
His words arrive
Like a whisper
To kiss her
Earlobe
Lightly.
They f l o a t to her
Drifting through
Time Zones
Continent to continent.
Continent to continent.
Playing leapfrog
with
Oceans
and
Oceans
and
Mountains
and
Forests
and
Forests
and
Rivers
and
Cornfields
and
Cities
and
Towns
Cities
and
Towns
and
Miles
and
Miles
Between.
And they reach her
in a
Heart beat.
There is nothing
Between them,
No time,
No space,
Nothing.
“Hey, Yourself.”
oooh Patti, I think you have your muse as well. How you follow all of us, I do not know. But your memory is phenomenal in my menopausal world.
ReplyDeleteYes my muse is like yours, alive, if getting better but not yet well.
keep in touch, you are a talented sensitive soul.

Beautiful form fitting to the words here. Very well done One Shot...
ReplyDeleteStill overwhelmingly smitten with me, I see.
ReplyDeleteI like the visual structure very much. Beautifully crafted conceit on shifting time and space
ReplyDeleteWhat's space between true communication?
ReplyDeleteExcellently done.
This is beautiful, Patti. That one voice that transports us. I loved the form of this, too. It was perfect.
ReplyDeleteSmoke signals are almost as good as ESP! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome & very clever visual play with the words. Casual & romantic. Well done.
ReplyDeletesmiles...love the visualness...and i know exactly how this feel...hey there...
ReplyDeleteNice. Communication at its best. It's so fabulous when it happens, and it can.
ReplyDeleteHmmm. An ode to technology. And brilliantly fashioned. Exquisitely expressed. Again and as always.
ReplyDeleteSo visual...I like that!
ReplyDeleteforgone and forgotten
This is so lovely. Love the way you made "float" float on the page, how do you DO that? A lovely selection of words down the page, each evoking an image, and a wonderful loving feeling all the way through. Sigh. My Romance Quotient for the day has been filled! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteA powerful connection knows no boundaries of space and distance! You've sent up a smoke signal of your own with this delicate trail of words and excellent photograph to accompany them.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, loved it! The form, especially in the middle stanza, lent a feeling of vast distances between, and thus increased the magic in the final stanza, of no space between.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice One Shot! Nothing like a phone call from your sweetie to warm your heart. :)
ReplyDeleteI dig the effect you used on the workd "float" - very cool! (I have no idea how to get such typographical effects to translate to Blogger)
Romantic, mood-effective. Good work.
ReplyDeleteHey Patti.. :)
ReplyDeleteThese words sure "reached" me... Dreamy, romantic and sooo relaxing... For as long as those words keep reaching, I am alive...
Absolutely enjoyed the way you have constructed it... very very smartly done!
Lovely poem, P.. as ever!
Love everything about this. The composition. The message. You're the best.
ReplyDeleteOh Patti. One word for your Oneshot; Wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteWell I could think of others (wow, whimsical, awesome, amazing, but ...)
Love bridges the gaps. Love this and the pic is amazing too.
ReplyDeleteVisually very impressive.. emotionally very strong.. and love the feeling as I related to it very much.. thanks for sharing.. your words in the end were perfect...
ReplyDelete'There is nothing
Between them,
No time,
No space,
Nothing.'
I helped myself...
thanks..
