Round and round I drive
Looking for a spot.
It’s mid-afternoon.
I should have a shot.
I looked everywhere.
I checked all the lots.
Did I find a space?
Ha! Of course I did not.
Look! A sign!
Blue, with a big white P
Then below it I saw…
Hey! Is he laughing at me?

This is my offering for Friday Flash 55, hosted by G-Man at Mr. KnowItAll.
Thats pretty strange!!
ReplyDeleteMaybe that means that parking is a joke!
Anyway...Loved your 55 Patti!!
Thank you so much for the smile.
Thanks for playing, and have a Kick Ass Week-End.
Cute piece, Patti. I wonder if the sign is facetiously laughing with you, or at you? :)
ReplyDeleteSeeking that elusive parking space can be frustrating...maybe it's better to just consider it a joke and try to laugh about it. I rather like that sign.
ReplyDeleteLuckily, I don't drive. It was mad enough when I used to. I feel the frustration.
ReplyDeleteawesome!!!!!
ReplyDeletesometimes that is the way it feels trying to find a space....interesting sign...i wonder what it is for...hmmm...nice 55..
ReplyDeleteWhat a great sign! You turned a frustrating experience into a chuckle for everyone.
ReplyDeleteMine is here
oh no patti - he's loving FOR you!! Big smiles your way -nice 55!
ReplyDelete…i meant laughing….
ReplyDeleteParking is always a pain, big city or not! But if we can laugh about it it's not so bad. Nice 55, have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteA muse to amuse!
ReplyDeletePersanlly, I never find looking for parking a laughing matter …
Living in the San Francisco area is so traumatic in terms of parking...and, now, they've changed the meters to run until 9PM instead of 6PM which makes dining out a real pain.
ReplyDeleteYour poem was terrific!!
At 65, I've done it! My poetry book - Life's Journey by Carmen Henesy - is out on Amazon!
( Poems about the things that have been important to me in my journey through life, some humorous, some sad, some that may have meaning to you as well )

After one has lost her temper and a bit more- about to get back home and to heck with all... a smile can change everything!

Tahnks for visiting!
Dulce
Doesn't it just make you want to wring his neck? Wait. He doesn't have one.
ReplyDeleteThis was so much fun. It sounded like a Dr. Seuss rhyme in my head.
ReplyDeleteIts the new City Hall calming programme. The road ones were a failure so now their are on to the drivers. Thanks for dropping by to hear or read my Friday 55
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming by, Everyone. I have no idea what this sign is all about, so all of our guesses are as good as any. And maybe that's what it's all about, to keep us guessing. In any case, I know he was laughing at me and not with me, and you'll never convince me otherwise!
ReplyDelete(And I am not paranoid!)
;-)
With you Patti, with you. And blessing you with a parking spot perhaps?
ReplyDeleteLOL...this is too funny. I would have thought the same thing. Clever and very well done my friend. Have a wonderful weekend :)
ReplyDeletethat's a fun 55,
ReplyDeleteloved your playful words.
great 55. I'm with you - he is laughing at you, but also at everyone else driving around missing that big blue sign. So, you don't have to take it personal at least. :)
ReplyDeletecute post Patti.
ReplyDeleteHow cute. Sometimes that seems to be me in the parking lot looking for an actual place to stop the car.
ReplyDeleteThat just cracks me up....where is the parking lot angel when you need them? I wonder, mine like yours seems to be at home taking a nap.
ReplyDeleteFun & clever.
Joanny
That can be a either a really tired smile, or a smirk!!
ReplyDeleteA smart one nonetheless! :)
And an excellent 55!! Where was this funny thing though?!?! How come I never get to see such stuff..!! :)
Here I am, better late than never!
ReplyDeleteLOL, yes, I have parking moments like this too, even if I haven't seen that particular sign (yet). :)
They probably laugh at me too. Behind my back. And if they had arms they would point as they snickered.
So lets all pause to be thankful that smiley faces don't have arms.
Well, unless they're stick figures.
I'd better stop now. :o
(!!)
P.S. Thanks for visiting my Friday 55!. I'm just now getting around to visiting everyone. :)
Enough to make you tear your hair out. Hope you eventually found a parking space.
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting my 55, much appreciated.
Eaton. :)
Charming ... a good chuckle with which to start this day ... Thanks! You have also vented everyone's frustration ... :-)
