“Only in America
Dreaming in red, white and blue
Only in America
Where we dream as big as we want to
We all get a chance
Everybody gets to dance
Only in America”
Except maybe…
The un-"equal," the unemployed,
The homeless, the under-fed,
And anyone whose face is
Black, brown, yellow or red.

This is my entry for Friday Flash 55, hosted by the inimitable Mr. Knowitall,
welcome to the undercurrent...those left off your list...politicians and heads of business...we work for their freedom...
ReplyDeleteScathing! We talk change....
ReplyDeleteThis needs to be said, over and over and over while some state boards of education are rewriting American history and while in my state of Kentucky a "historical" group from TN want us to put the Confederate flag on our license plates!
ReplyDeleteRegression is ill advised.
Hot topic Patti - what do we really stand for any more???

Eye opening 55 My Friend.
1912 was the year I was born!
Thanks for playing, and have a Kick Ass Week-End
Amen. How many white presidents have had to produce their birth certificate to prove they were Americans? (That would be none, and no one ever even asked.) Excellent 55.
ReplyDeleteSo very well said.
ReplyDeleteHear! Hear!
ReplyDeleteHave a brilliant weekend.
Preaching to the converted I fear Patti!
ReplyDeleteDiscrimination, prejudice, fear and plain old hatefulness are alive and well and keeping many Americans from having a chance.
ReplyDeleteSure, we all get a chance. Just not the same chance.
